GOVERNMENT civilian workers including military and uniformed personnel will receive their midyear bonuses starting today, May 15, the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) said yesterday.
DBM Secretary Amenah Pangandaman ordered agencies “to ensure the prompt and timely release” of the “eagerly awaited” bonuses of qualified civil servants, which include regular, casual, and contractual employees.
Government workers eligible for the midyear bonus must be with the government as of May 15. They should have received “at least a satisfactory performance rating in the most recent rating period or applicable performance appraisal period,” the DBM said.
The bonus is equal to a government worker’s one-month worth of basic pay. The DBM said it is given to eligible personnel who worked at least four months from July 1, 2023, to May 15, 2024.
The budget department said the allocation of the midyear bonuses for personnel in provinces, cities, municipalities, and barangays would be determined by their respective councils and subject to policy conditions.
The budget for the midyear bonus had been released to the concerned agencies at the start of the fiscal year, the DBM said. (ABS-CBN News)
