BACOLOD City – The Sangguniang Panlungsod’s (SP) Committee on Women, Gender, Family, and Childcare is working closely with the Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) of the Bacolod City Police Office, the Department of Social Services and Development (DSSD) of the city government, and the Department of Education (DepEd)-Bacolod to address allegations of molestation involving three Grade 8 students.
Three 13-year-old female students accused their teacher of repeated “unwanted touches”.
The identities of both the complainants and the teacher are being withheld to protect their privacy.
Councilor Celia Flor, chairperson of the SP committee, emphasized the need for a thorough investigation by the police and DepEd, while the DSSD should provide psychological intervention for the victims.
DepEd-Bacolod Deputy Spokesperson RJ Paglomutan confirmed that an investigation is ongoing. He, however, refrained from disclosing further details.
The students alleged multiple instances of inappropriate physical contact by their teacher.
Flor expressed concern, noting that the one being complained about holds a position of authority over them and was entrusted with the welfare of students./PN
