ILOILO City – In Barangay Agta, Leon, Iloilo, a Grade 9 student drowned at the river.
The 14-year-old resident Lannie Rose Cabanero was taken to the Aleosan District Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Citing an account from Agta barangay captain Lorena Candaganan, police said Cabanero was trying to cross the river at around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday when she lost her balance and the current swept her.
A local rescue team retrieved her body in Barangay Coyugan, Leon, police said./PN
