ILOILO City – An unidentified man lobbed a grenade at the display center of Toyota Iloilo in Brgy. San Rafael, Mandurriao district before dawn yesterday.
One vehicle was damaged – a 2014 Toyota Vios, said Security Guard Aldrin Reales.
He admitted he was sleeping that time. The loud explosion woke him up.
Initial police investigation identified the grenade used – an M26 A-1.
The grenade exploded some 11 meters away from the display center but strong enough to damage one car.
Probers recovered the safety lever of the grenade.
They also spotted fresh footprints along the nearby river bank.
“As of now, we are blind on the identity of the suspect, his motive and his target. Basi may kaakig sia sa Toyota company, or ang guard iya target,” said Iloilo City Police Office spokesperson, Supt. Gilbert Gorero.
