ILOILO City – A hand grenade was found in the cemetery in Ajuy, Iloilo yesterday.
Kim Basico, who was visiting the tombs of relatives, spotted the grenade around 6:30 a.m. He immediately alerted the police.
Yesterday (No. 2) was All Souls’ Day. It and Nov. 1 (All Saints’ Day) were traditionally observed by visiting the graves of dead people and praying for them.
According to Basico, he found the grenade near the tomb of Josue Barabona.
The police believed the grenade was left there by the person possessing it for fear of being caught at a nearby checkpoint.
The police of Ajuy secured the grenade./PN
