ILOILO City – Policemen raided a house in Barangay Lawis, Balasan, Iloilo. They found unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
Benjamin Icaca, who owns the house, was taken to the municipal police station.
Armed with a search warrant, the Balasan police confiscated from Icaca a .45-caliber pistol with several live bullets, a grenade and an M16 armalite rifle on Oct. 31.
Judge Oscar leo Billena of the Regional Trial Court Branch 70 issued the warrant.
The suspect was detained and charged with for violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act./PN
