ILOILO City – Combined operatives of Ajuy, Iloilo’s police station and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group recovered a grenade from a drug surrenderer’s house in Barangay San Antonio, Ajuy.

Eddie Buendia was not in his house when policemen conducted the raid on May 19 but police said he would still be charged with violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

The raiders secured a search warrant from Judge Rogelio Amador of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 66.

Aside from the grenade, they also found an empty bullet shell of a .45 pistol.

According to Chief Inspector Charlie Sustento, Ajuy police chief, Buendia voluntarily turned himself in to the municipal police station last year after the Philippine National Police launched Oplan Double Barrel against drug trafficking./PN
