Gretchen Ho to bear torch at 2020 Tokyo Olympics

GRETCHEN Ho will be a torchbearer at the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics. The athlete-host shared the good news on her Instagram page on Dec. 28.

“Guess who’s going to be a torchbearer at the @Tokyo2020 Olympics? Every athlete’s dream!!!” she posted.

She added that she is very ecstatic for next year.

Gretchen stated, “I just can’t wait for the new year to begiiiin! #tokyo2020.”

Her fellow athletes were quick to congratulate her after she announced the exciting news.

“SO FREAKING HAPPY FOR YOUUUUUUU!!!! Yahoooo (sic)!!!” Charo Soriano commented.

“Wooowww!! Congratulations, Gretch (sic)!!” Alyssa Valdez wrote.

The “Umagang Kay Ganda” host used to play for the Ateneo Lady Eagles from 2008 to 2013. She became a professional volleyball player for the Petron Blaze Spikers in the Philippine Super Liga from 2013 to 2015. (Push)
