ILOILO – The General Services Office (GSO) has completed its inventory of provincial government properties.
On June 30 it would turnover its inventory report to the incoming administration of Governor-elect Arthur “Toto” Defensor Jr., son of the outgoing Gov. Arthur Defensor Sr.
According to Aaron Raymundo, GSO officer-in-charge, his office conducts an inventory annually so it was not difficult to have another one for the upcoming change of capitol administration.
“Before 2018 ended we conducted an inventory so we just updated the list,” explained Raymundo.
GSO inventoried vehicles, buildings, real property, information technology equipment, and office supplies, among others.
All provincial government properties were accounted; nothing was missing, stressed Raymundo.
Governor Defensor Sr. formed a transition team for the smooth turnover of the provincial government to the incoming administration of his son.
Through Executive Order No. 153 dated May 20, the governor ordered the constitution of the Local Governance Transition Team designating himself as chairperson.
Acting Provincial Administrator Suzette Mamon is the vice chairperson while all the department heads and chiefs of hospitals run by the provincial government are members.
Among the duties and responsibilities of the transition team are:
* conduct inventory of the provincial government’s immovable and movable properties
* gather, secure and preserve all official documents and/or records of official transactions
* turnover accountabilities
* organize turnover ceremony to include a briefing on the Governance Assessment Report and key challenges to the incoming set of officials
* ensure the accomplishment and timely submission of Elective Local Officials Personnel Data Sheet of incoming officials./PN
