ILOILO City — His conscience got the better of him.
A bank security guard who accidentally shot a fellow guard at about 9:40 a.m. on Thursday on Ledesma Street, City Proper surrendered after initially fleeing.
Ronald Minerva, 36, of Barangay Trapiche, Oton, Iloilo, of Security Bank was detained in Police Station 1. He is facing a frustrated homicide charge.
He accidentally pulled the trigger of his service firearm, a 12-gauge shotgun, while getting the bank’s daily collection from an armored van.
Garry Garaldo, 44, of Barangay Bungol, Guimbal town, who was standing next to Minerva, was hit in the stomach. He was confined in St. Paul’s Hospital Iloilo./PN
