ILOILO City – A security guard landed in jail for shooting a theft suspect at a construction site in Brgy. Balantang, Jaro district.
The 30-year-old Michael Glimer of Zone1, Brgy. Calumpang, Molo was detained at the Iloilo City Police Station 3 for shooting Jason Pasol of said place yesterday.
Glimer admitted shooting Pasol after seeing him and his three other companions inside the construction site around 3 a.m., believing that Pasol and his three friends were responsible for stealing construction materials.
“I paid P600 for the missing construction materials because it is our responsibility to guard the area,” Glimmer said.
The suspect used his service firearm, a caliber .38 revolver, in shooting Pasol on his right foot.
“I have no plan to kill him, I would like only to neutralize him because lost construction materials are being charged to the security guard on duty,” Glimmer told Panay News.
Glimmer added that before the incident happened, he had seen Pasol’s group in the area. He allegedly told them to go home but they later came returned to the construction site./PN
