JORDAN, Guimaras – The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) approved the province’s proposed budget for 2021 – P771,684,084.

The approval was unanimous, Vice Gov. John Edward Gando told Panay News

He also said the SP made no modifications in the budget proposal submitted by Gov. Samuel Gumarin.

Three budget hearings were conducted by the SP Committee on Appropriations chaired by Board member David Gano prior to the approval.

A big chunk of the province’s 2021 budget – P247 million – is for Personal Services, Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses and special purpose appropriations.

Gando said most of the budget is for the infrastructure projects in five towns – Jordan, Buenavista, San Lorenzo, Sibunag, and Nueva Valencia.

The 2021 budget is P49-million higher than this year’s P722 million./PN
