GUIMARAS – Two Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries’ Organizations (ARBOs) here received a total of P1.2495- million worth of farm projects from the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR).

Undersecretary Jesry Palmares (Foreign Assisted and Special Project, DAR central office) led the turnover of two farm projects to the Avila Farmers Association in Buenavista and the LaniCa ARBs Association in Nueva Valencia on Dec. 21.

The two ARBOs received the Climate Resilient Farm Productivity Support Project (CRFPSP) and Village Level Farm-Focused Enterprise Development Project (VLFED), which consisted of two processing facilities under the VLFED Project and one drop-side delivery truck for the CRFPSP.

The projects are seen to boost the associations’ income through safe, standard and quality production of bags and mushroom products. The delivery truck will also improve the mobility and logistics of ARBOs’ enterprises and Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs).

Top officials from DAR Regional Office VI graced the event in the persons of Atty. Sheila B. Enciso, Regional Director, and Lucrecia Taberna, assistant regional director.

Together with Palmares were Guimaras governor Joaquin Carlos Rahman Nava, Cong. Ma. Lucille Nava, Buenavista mayor Samuel Gumarin, and Nueva Valencia mayor Paul Vincent de la Cruz. (With a report from DAR-Guimaras)/PN
