ILOILO City – A high-ranking official of the Guimaras Police Provincial Office (GPPO) denied harassing a neophyte policewoman.
“Walang pangliligaw na nangyari,” said Police Lieutenant Colonel Antonio Dizon, GPPO’s deputy director for administration, in an interview with Panay News.
On Aug. 31 this year, Dizon was complained by a police corporal before the office of the National Police Commission (Napolcom) in Region 6 for grave misconduct and conduct unbecoming of a police officer for allegedly courting her despite being married.
“I vehemently deny having committed the administrative offenses of grave misconduct and conduct unbecoming of a police officer or such any other administrative offenses while in the performance of my duty as Police Commissioned Officer (PCO), neither I committed the said offenses directly against (the) police corporal,” Dizon said.
The complainant said Dizon started courting her in December 2020, adding that this bothered her emotionally and psychologically.
If the policewoman were to be believed, she received bouquets of flowers and chocolates with cards containing love notes from an anonymous sender. These were reportedly delivered to her hometown in the 4th District of Iloilo.
The complainant said it was Dizon’s wife who told her that her husband was the one sending flowers and chocolates.
However, Dizon denied all these.
“Hindi ‘yan totoo. Mahal ko asawa ko,” Dizon said.
According to Dizon, the policewoman got irked when he ordered her a 10-hour community service for not observing courtesy to a fellow officer.
“Pinatawan ko siya ng community service kasi mali ang ginawa niya – hindi siya nag saludo sa fellow officer. Pinaasikaso ko ng journal hindi nya magawa nang maayos,” Dizon said.
He said he is ready to face the charges.
Dizon was relieved from his post and was transferred to the Regional Personnel Holding and Accounting Unit of the Police Regional Office 6./PN
