ILOILO City – A high-ranking police official of the Guimaras Police Provincial Office (GPPO) accused of harassing and romantically pursuing a neophyte policewoman was relieved from his post.
The director of Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6), Police Brigadier General Flynn Dongbo, approved yesterday the recommendation of GPPO director, Police Colonel Pablito Asmod.
Asmod recommended for transfer Police Lieutenant Colonel Antonio Dizon, GPPO’s deputy provincial director for administration, while being investigated by the National Police Commission (Napolcom) in Region 6.
He would be reassigned to the Regional Personnel Holding and Accounting Unit.
GPPO’s deputy provincial director for operations, Police Lieutenant Willie Diel, will replace Dizon, while his post will be filled in by Police Lieutenant Efren Lozada of the planning division.
According to Dongbo, Dizon would be facing an administrative case.
PRO-6 is also willing to assist, he said.
“My leadership will never tolerate any wrongdoings by Police Commissioned Officers, Police Non-Commissioned Officers or Non-Uniform Personnel. As public servants, we are bound to work professionally and be the examples in abiding laws and policies in the workplace,” Dongbo said.
The policewoman personally went to the office of Atty. Joseph Celis, director of Napolcom-6, and lodged the complaint against Dizon, who is a married man./PN
