ILOILO City – A police officer shot a man tried to kill him during a commotion in Barangay Maabay, Sibunag, Guimaras.
Police Officer 2 Rey Casuyon of Sibunag said Kenneth John Galon, 29, attempted to stab him on Friday night.
Galon was taken to the Dr. Catalino Gallego Hospital in Jordan, Guimaras for a gunshot wound on the left leg.
The shooting happened around 9 p.m. Barangay Maabay was celebrating its fiesta.
Casuyon said the group of Galon had a confrontation with another group and he tried to stop it. He recovered the knife that he said Galon tried to use on him.
Galon faces two charges – attempted homicide and possession of deadly weapon./PN
