GUIMARAS – The Dr. Catalino Gallego Nava Provincial Hospital (DCGNPH) in Barangay San Miguel, Jordan town now has an Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Pulmonary Unit, Blood Station, and CT Scan Department.

These were inaugurated on Aug. 30.

The dedicated DCGNPH staff was the impetus for these hospital improvements, said Gov. JC Rahman Nava. He cited their commitment and enthusiasm to serve Guimarasnons.

More improvements would be introduced such as a bigger laboratory, bigger emergency and operating rooms, another extension wing, and possibly making DCGNPH five stories tall.

Dr. Inocensio Lopez, DCGNPH OIC chief of hospital, welcomed the hospital improvements. He said this would give Guimarasnons quality affordable healthcare services.

For his part, Guimaras  Provincial Board member Felipe Hilan Nava, chairperson of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan’s Committee on Health, said the new hospital facilities are a step to making DCGNPH a Level 2 hospital./PN
