Guimaras improves to 3-0 in Treñas caging

ILOILO City – Guimaras Leopards cruised to its third straight victory in as many games in the Mayor Jerry P. Treñas Basketball Tournament at the Jaro Gymnasium here.


Zean Poral continued his solid outing for the Guimarasnons on Saturday evening. They pulled off a 112- 106 victory over the Asialink / E and C Trucking, which suffered its second straight defeat.


Leopards head coach Richard Gabayoyo credited his players for their focus in each of their matches so far that led to their unblemished start in the competition.


“We only focus sa game. Enjoy and do what we can do for the team,” Gabayoyo said. “We started with the right players. All the five starters do their roles on the floor whether on offense or defense.”


On D Move Sportswear, meanwhile, captured its second victory in as many matches after an 82-66 domination over the P. Doce SBC-Iloilo Doctors College squad.


Ilonggo Edward Dixon, who plays for the College of St. Benilde Blazers, played huge again for the ODM Sportwear, while big man Jesse Sullano provided the heft inside anew.


Action continues today with the Leopards facing P. Doce SBC-Iloilo Doctors College at five in the afternoon to be followed by the matchup between ODM Sportswear and DPWH./PN
