
GUIMARAS – The provincial government launched its 18-day campaign to end violence against women and children (VAWC) with a series of activities at the capitol grounds on Nov. 28.
The campaign, led by Cecile C. Gumarin, chairperson of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan’s committee on women and family, and Provincial Administrator Emmanuel C. Galila, commenced with a flag-raising ceremony.
A key speaker at the event was Police Major Marie Faith Superio from the Guimaras Police Provincial Office.
The program, organized by the Gender and Development Focal Point System Technical Working Group of the provincial government, also saw participation from various partner agencies. These included the Department of Interior and Local Government, the Bureau of Plant Industry, the Philippine Army, and the Guimaras Police Provincial Office.
A highlight of the kickoff was the signing of a pledge of commitment by all stakeholders, reaffirming their dedication to ending violence against women and children.
