JORDAN, Guimaras – Guimarasnons can now move freely within the island as the provincial government of Guimaras lifted local border restrictions.
Gov. Samuel Gumarin issued Executive Order No. 32, series of 2021 modifying some protocols imposed to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the province.
While Guimaras is under General Community Quarantine (GCQ), the province was classified by the Department of Health as “low risk” for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases.
The province likewise saw a downward trend in the number of cases after a recorded surge in the previous months.
Along with the lifting of local border restrictions, “travel passes” are no longer required.
Ambulant vendors are now allowed provided, minimum health standards will be strictly followed.
Residents of the five municipalities are now allowed to enter Jordan Food Terminal Market and Buenavista Commercial Complex and Public Utility Market at any day as previously imposed schedules for market days were discarded.
Dine-in services in food establishments and resorts are now allowed up to 25% of the venue capacity.
Hotels and establishments in the province accredited by the Department of Tourism can accommodate clients up to 25% only of the establishment’s capacity.
However, amenities of these establishments such as swimming pools, beaches and drinking bars shall remain closed.
Meanwhile, returning and visiting persons coming from outside Western Visayas who are not fully vaccinated are still required to present a negative result of their reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction test with the test conducted not more than three days before the date of travel./PN
