ILOILO City – The Manggahan Festival of Guimaras province aims to bag this year’s Aliwan Fiesta street dance crown.

The Hubon Guimarasnon tribe from the town of San Lorenzo was the winner during the 2019 Fiesta Filipinas Kasadyahan Regional Cultural Competition of the Dinagyang Festival in Iloilo City.

“The province allocated P7.2 million for the 420 contingents to represent the province for this year’s Aliwan Fiesta in Pasay City,” said provincial tourism officer Liberty Ferrer.

Ferrer added that Guimaras joining the celebration will “introduce the province to the whole world.”

“Our end-goal is to bring back the championship trophy to Western Visayas,” she stressed.
