GUIMARAS – The number of active cases of coronavirus disease in 2019 (COVID -19) in Guimaras province has dropped to five, as of March 29.
Five active cases of pure local cases are listed in the town of Buenavista – two, San Lorenzo – one, Jordan – one, and Nueva Valencia – one.
Sibunag town has no active case.
On Tuesday, March 29, no recorded new cases of COVID-19 in Guimaras and the total confirmed cases remained at 3,768.
Of the total recorded cases in the province, 94.75 percent (3,570) have recovered while 5.12 percent (193) have died.
“The province of Guimaras recorded no new case of COVID-19 on 29 March 2022 bringing the total number of cases on the island to 3,768,” part of the provincial government statement.
Guimaras has been downgraded to Alert Level 1 since March 16 after the COVID-19 cases dropped.
According to the Department of Health, the risk classification of Guimaras is a minimal risk after the health care utilization rate reached only 20.69 percent, the average daily attack rate was 0.79 percent, and the two-week growth rate was negative (-) 54 percent change or 25 case difference. /PN
