Guimaras State stuns Buenavista High in NBTC

GUIMARAS State College handed Buenavista National High School its first loss in the National Basketball Training Center Guimaras leg with a 91-74 rout on Dec. 24 at the Guimaras State College Gym.

Guimaras State imposed its presence on the Buenavista National High from the start en route to a lopsided win.

Skyrus Occena finished with 28 points for Guimaras State, which tied its victim with 5-1 win-loss slate.

Sta. Teresa National High School, meanwhile, clinched the third spot in the standings with a victory over the Good Shepherd’s Fold Academy. John Michael Adorador had 19 markers for the winning team.

With the victory, Sta. Teresa National High has claimed the third place in the standings with 4-2 win-loss slate, while Good Sheperd’s Fold dropped to fourth spot with 3-3 record.

Agsanayan National High School, on the other hand, has salvaged some semblance of pride after a 76-63 victory over fellow eliminated Jordan National High School.

Edjay Poscablo had 13 points to lead the way for the Agsanayan National High, which has 2-4 win-loss card, while John Paul Ronzales had 17 markers for Jordan National High (1-5).

Knockout semifinals is slated on Dec. 29 at the same venue with No. 1 seed Guimaras State College taking on no. 4 ranked Good Shepherd’s Fold Academy, while No. 2 Buenavista National High tangles with No. 3 Sta. Teresa National High./PN
