GUIMARAS – Did he commit suicide?
The Jordan police station is looking into the death of a 13-year-old boy found hanging from a tree in Barangay San Miguel, Jordan last month.
More evidence is needed, according to Police Major Kenneth Bermejo, Jordan police chief.
Two angles are being explored: suicide and murder.
Based on the autopsy result conducted by Dr. Owen Libaquin of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6), the victim died of strangulation by asphyxia, but he had hematoma at the back of his head.
“Indi pa gid kita ka-conclude, pero may gina-process kita subong nga makahatag sabat kon sia ginpatay or nag-sucide,” Bermejo told Panay News.
Police recovered the victim’s cellular phone; it was submitted to the Regional Anti-Cyber Crime Unit (RACCU).
This could be the key to know of what happened, according to Bermejo.
The victim was found dead by residents around 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 26.
He and his girlfriend reportedly had a quarrel. The girlfriend asked permission to go to Iloilo City to work but the boy did not agree.
“Nag-away sila kuno sang iya nobya kay indi gusto mag lakat. Amo ‘na natan-aw naton nga rason kon nag-suicide gid man sia. Pero may nakuha kami nga information nga may naka away si tatay nya sa ila barangay. Pero indi pa gid kita maka-conclude kon ano gid man natabo,” Bermejo added./PN
