GUIMARAS – Beginning tomorrow, Nov. 16, this island province will be opening up to tourists – residents and non-residents – fully vaccinated against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Gov. Samuel Gumarin issued Executive Order (EO) No. 49 on Nov. 12 allowing tourism-related travels — and ravels for other purposes — and activities for fully vaccinated individuals.
In the EO, an individual shall be considered as having been fully vaccinated against COVID-19:
a. more than or equal to two weeks after having received the second dose in a two-dose series, or
b. more than or equal to two weeks after received a single-dose vaccine
An individual claiming to be fully vaccinated must present his/her vaccination card or vaccination certificate issued by the government before the provincial government screening team stationed in Iloilo City.
Resorts and commercial tourist destination shall require guests to present such card or certificate prior to their admission to the venue.
Here are the other activities allowed and/or prohibited by the provincial government pursuant to the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) Guidelines on the Implementation of Alert Levels System for COVID-19 for Pilot Areas dated Oct. 13:
* Casinos, horse racing, cockfighting and operation of cockpits, lottery and betting shops and other gaming establishments shall not be allowed to operate, or be undertaken except as may be authorized by the IATF, or the office of the President.
* Contact sports such as basketball, among others, are allowed. In indoor venues, these shall be limited to 50% of the venue capacity and all participating individuals must be fully vaccinated. In outdoor venues, participating individuals must be are fully vaccinated.
* Movement of minors into and within the province shall be dealt with in accordance with existing IATF guidelines.
Gumarin also ordered the police and other law enforcement agencies to enforce applicable provisions of Provincial Ordinance No. 2020-04 (an ordinance prescribing measures and policies against emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases in the province).

As of Nov. 12, Guimaras had 14 active cases, 2,977 cases that recovered, and 158 cases that died./PN
