ILOILO – The Guimbal Municipal Police Station (MPS) is preparing a complaint against four suspects in the theft of 15 gamefowls from a game farm in Barangay Particion, Guimbal.
“Ang latest update naton subong is identified na sila nga apat, gina-prepare na ang documents para nga ma-file na naton diri ang kaso. Bali ang apat nga ini taga-Tapaz, Capiz,” said Guimbal MPS acting chief Police Captain Felice Dioso.
All 15 stolen gamefowls with “Alexandra” markings were recovered, Dioso added.
On Feb. 7, Alexandra Game Farm manager Emiliano Gevela discovered the robbery of 12 broad cocks and three stags worth around P1.4 million.
The suspects, whose names were withheld, were allegedly preying on game farms across Iloilo province.
“Sa subong nagapangayo kami nga kung pwede indi lang anay pagpagwaon ang ila ngalan, kung matapos na lang file kay basi may mga possible suspects pa kita,” said Dioso.
The police also recovered from one of the suspects other gamefowls allegedly stolen from Barotac Viejo town and Passi City.
Police Regional Office 6 director Brigadier General Leo Francisco, for his part, intensified checkpoints and vehicle inspections.
The stolen gamefowls were reportedly sold in Boracay Island, Aklan.
“Pa-imbestigaran ko yan kasi ibang modus naman ang ginagawa nila, nag-shift naman sila sa nakawan na pangsabong na manok,” said Francisco./PN
