BACOLOD City – Illegal possession of firearm and ammunition led to the arrest of a man in SitioBuri, Barangay 4, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.
Senior Inspector Jerald Muya, Kabankalan City police deputy chief, identified the man as the 42-year-old JoemarieTingson of Barangay Dahile, Mabinay, Negros Oriental.
Tingson was riding a Bajaj motorcycle when he was arrested at a checkpoint around 11:55 p.m. on Monday.
Police recovered from his sling bag a .22-caliber homemade revolver without serial number loaded with five live bullets.
Tingson failed to present before the police the gun’s license.
He was detained at the Kabankalan City police station lockup facility and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act./PN
