BACOLOD City – Police nabbed a man in Barangay Orong, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental for violating the election gun ban.
A .357-caliber revolver loaded with four live bullets was confiscated from the 25-year-old Joseph Miot of Barangay Orong.
Miot was arrested around 6 p.m. on Sunday, a police report showed.
Officers from the Kabankalan City police station were patrolling the village after receiving an intelligence report that armed men were roaming the area.
Miot acted suspiciously and hurried to board his motorcycle when he saw the police. The officers flagged him down.
They frisked Miot and found the gun.
Miot was detained in the Kabankalan City police station lockup facilty.
He was facing charges for violation of the election firearms ban./PN
