KALIBO, Aklan – An ice cream vendor in Numancia, Aklan landed in jail after police recovered an unlicensed handgun from him.
The 40-year-old Invensor Rampola Nervar of Barangay Bulwang, Numancia was arrested in a house raid the police conducted around 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 4.
Officers from the municipal police station were armed with a search warrant that Judge Bienvenido Barrios Jr. of the Regional Trial Court in Kalibo issued on Oct. 3 when they staged the operation in line with the Police Regional Office 6’s “Tokhang Kontra Ginadumili-an nga Pusil” campaign.
The firearm recovered from Nervar was a .38-caliber handgun loaded with 11 live bullets.
He was detained in the lockup facility of the Numancia municipal police station, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act. (With Aklan Forum Journal/PN)
