ILOILO City – A fixer at the Land Transportation Office (LTO) Region 6 was shot by a motorcycle-driving gunman yesterday in Barangay Quintin Salas, Jaro district.
As of this writing, the 29-year-old Rudy Parojinog of M.H Del Pilar, Jaro was still unconscious at the West Visayas State University Medical Center. A bullet hit him around 10:30 a.m. in front of LTO.
Parojinog was standing by the roadside waiting for clients when shot.
According t witnesses, man driving a motorcycle stopped in front of Parojinog, pulled out a gun then pulled the trigger.
Parojinog was hit on the head. The gunman hurriedly left.
According to Chief Inspector Ruel Firmo, Jaro police chief, it was too early to conclude that the crime was related to the victim’s job.
Investigators were not ruling out anything, he stressed.
But Firmo said Parojinog was not in the Jaro police’s list of suspected drug personalities.
He hoped that security camera recordings of adjacent establishments will help the police identify the gunman.
An empty shell of a .45 pistol was recovered from the crime scene./PN
