BACOLOD City – Unregistered guns with ammunition were recovered in a house search in Sitio Cabug, Barangay Pandan, Pontevedra, Negros Occidental.
Officers from the municipal police station led by Senior Inspector Ryan Salazar found the weapons in Jose Percy Eyan’s house around 9:30 p.m. on Friday.
The police conducted the house raid on the strength of a search warrant that Judge Cyclamen Jison-Fernandez of the Regional Trial Court Branch 63 in La Carlota City, Negros Occidental issued on Aug. 22.
Among the recovered weapons were a .22-caliber revolver loaded with five live bullets, thee more live bullets of the .22-caliber gun, an improvised 12-gauge firearm, and two live bullets of a 12-gauge firearm, police said.
The search led to Eyan’s apprehension. He was detained at the Pontevedra municipal police station lockup facility, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act./PN
