Guns, ammos seized in Pototan house raids

ILOILO City – Police raided two houses in Barangay Sarague, Pototan, Iloilo, which led to the recovery of guns and ammunition.

Officers from the municipal police station and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group conducted the one of the raids on the strength of a search warrant issued against David Magbanua around 3:30 p.m. on March 28.

The warrant was issued by Judge Vicente Go of the Regional Trial Court Branch 68 in Dumangas, Iloilo.

A Tanfoglio gun (serial number AEG5518), a .45-caliber pistol (serial number 573061), a magazine of a .9mm pistol, a magazine of a .45-caliber pistol, 14 live bullets of a .99m gun, nine live bullets of a .45-caliber gun, and a black holster were recovered from Magbanua’s house, a police report showed.

At around 4:10 p.m. on the same day, the authorities also raided the house of Jerry Magbanua, also in the village.

There, they recovered a Colt 1911 gun (serial number 159472), four magazines of a .45-caliber gun, 46 live bullets of a .45-caliber gun, a .9mm pistol (serial number 863150), three magazines of a .9mm gun, 79 live bullets of a .9mm gun, and a black holster.

The Magbanuas were arrested and detained in the Pototan police station lockup facility./PN
