Guns, ammos, shabu seized

POTOTAN, Iloilo — Illegal drugs, unlicensed firearms and ammunitions were recovered by the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) in Brgy. Guinacas here.

Arrested yesterday for possessing firearms and shabu were Ernesto Bolivar, 38, and friend Richard Tabuco, both of the said village.

Bolivar was inside his house with Tabuco when members of the IPPO and Pototan police station entered around 2:20 p.m.

Recovered from Bolivar were a caliber .45 pistol, ammunitions and 19 sachets of shabu, while from Tabuco were caliber .45 pistol and ammunitions.

The police later arrested seven others in a cave near Bolivar’s house while they were having a pot session.

They were identified as Jade Mendoza, 27, his relatives Sarth Mendoza, 29; Stephen Mendoza, 18; Eliazar Tibog, 37; Nestor Laloma, 50, of Brgy. Purog, Dueñas, Iloilo; Ronald Pantong, 27; and Rocky Rodriguez, 32, of Brgy. Agbatuan, Pototan.

According to Senior Insp. Aron Palomo, Pototan police chief, Bolivar and Tabuco were high-value targets.

The two were suspected suppliers of illegal drugs not only in Pototan but also in neighboring towns.

They were detained at the Pototan police station./PN
