ILOILO – Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. is self-quarantining. His security aide tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), confirmed acting provincial administrator Atty. Suzette Mamon.

The security aide had mild symptoms, Mamon added.

Disinfection at the Office of the Governor was conducted.

Defensor was tagged a close contact together with four others.

For five days (starting Aug. 11), Defensor would be observed. Should he exhibit symptoms, he would be subjected to reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction test, Mamon said.

All transactions with the Office of the Governor would be temporarily conducted at the Provincial Administrator’s Office.

Mamon also clarified that not all employees assigned at the Office of the Governor were included in the contact tracing.
