Guv to mall owners: Don’t turn away non-Bacolod residents

BY DOMINIQUE GABRIEL BAÑAGA

BACOLOD City – Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson of Negros Occidental appealed to mall owners here to accept residents from areas outside the capital city after the easing of quarantine rules on Saturday.

Lacson reminded mall owners that many of their patrons are residents out of this city. He asked them to also take care of non-Bacolod residents.

Lacson also reminded the non-Bacolod residents to follow the general quarantine protocols issued by both the city government and the mall management, adding both are following protocols in order to prevent the spread of SARS-coV-2, the virus which causes coronavirus disease 2019.

For her part, SM City-Bacolod public relations officer May Castro, said their mall had been preparing for the resumption to normal operations since the city and the province had been placed under enhanced community quarantine.

Castro pointed out sanitizing and safety practices were implemented and mall goers were requested to follow all directives.

During the mall’s opening on Saturday, it was noticed that mall goers undergo temperature checks first, before being allowed entry.

Cleaning personnel were also performing non-stop disinfecting mall grounds and mall safety officers were moving around with their megaphones reminding shoppers to observe social distancing./PN
