Hack suspect falls

BACOLOD City – Police arrested a suspect in fatally hacking a man in Barangay Guimbala-on, Silay City, Negros Occidental.

The 40-year-old resident Bob Taberos was detained at the Silay City police station lockup facility.

Taberos allegedly attacked the 48-year-old resident Felizardo Penson using a bolo that measures 24 inches around 5 p.m. on Saturday, according to the police.

Silay City police head Superintendent Noel Polines said Penson sustained hack wounds on the body.

Penson was rushed to the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City where attending physician Dr. Romy Centinar pronounced him “dead on arrival.”

Initial report showed that prior to the hacking, there was an altercation between Taberos and Penson at the latter’s house.

Investigators said the motive in the hacking was still unclear. Investigation was still ongoing./PN
