Half-naked man found dead in Lambunao

ILOILO – A man without his lower undergarments was found dead along the road in Poblacion Ilawod, Lambunao town in this province around 6 a.m. yesterday.

Lambunao police identified the victim as construction worker JP Lego, 31, and a resident of the town’s Barangay Bagongbong.

He sustained wounds in the different parts of his body, police said.

A men’s blue underwear was found also a few meters away from the crime scene.

According to Ryan Catedrilla of Pototan town, he went home at around 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, while his cousin Lego stayed at the construction barracks.

Ronaldo Celiz, the caretaker for the construction site, he and the victim had a drinking binge at the barracks but the latter left at around 6:00 p.m. to meet with his friend and did not return.

Lambunao police said Celiz was among the “persons of interest” in the alleged killing of Lego.

In an interview, Lego’s family said he was a good person.

Ginhimo na [suspect] tana harampangan [akon nga bata],” Lego’s mother said.

As of this writing, officers of the Lambunao police station were still investigating the incident to determine the motive of the killing and identify the suspect./PN
