SAN JOSE, Antique – The town of Hamtic, Antique has not recorded new cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) since April 11, according to the municipal government.
Also, all of Hamtic’s recorded 789 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic struck recovered; there were no deaths.
“We would like to thank everyone for your continued cooperation and we would like to appeal to all our kasimanwas to continue following the minimum health protocols,” said Mayor Julius Pacificador.
He stressed the importance of wearing facemask, observing physical distancing and frequent hand-washing.
The municipal government will also continue its COVID-19 vaccination in 47 barangays to reach its target of 70 precent vaccinated population.
Hamtic wants to be placed under pandemic Alert Level 1 despite the province of Antique being under Alert Level 2.
As of April 11, Hamtic’s fully vaccinated residents numbered 21,391 – this is 51.42 percent of its 41,598 target population.
So far, only three towns in Antique have been deescalated to Alert Level 1 – Anini-y, Sebaste and San Jose.
“We need to remember that we are still in the middle of the pandemic so we appeal to all of you not to let our guard down,” said Pacificador./PN
