SAN JOSE, Antique – A cache of high-powered firearms and assorted ammunitions were seized in a house raid in Barangay Buhang, Hamtic, Antique.
The suspect was identified as 53-year-old ex-soldier Hilarion Combong, police said.
He was nabbed on the strength of a search warrant, the police added.
Recovered during the raid of his house on Friday afternoon were the following:
* .357 Magnum revolver
* .22-caliber revolver
* 12-gauge improvised shotgun
* Hand grenade
* Twelve unfired ammunition of M79
* Four unfired .50-caliber rifle
* Forty-two unfired ammunition of M16 rifle
* Eleven blank ammunition of M16 rifle
* Three rifle grenade
* Twelve unfired ammunition of .45-caliber
* Six unfired ammunition of .22-caliber
* Five unfired ammunition of .357 caliber
* Two unfired ammunition of Garand Rifle
* Two long magazine of M16 rifle
* Two short magazine of M16 rifle
* One magazine believed to be of .45-caliber
* One magazine believed to be of M14 rifle
* Twenty-two pieces blank ammunition of M14 rifle
Officers of the Hamtic police station served the warrant issued by Judge Francisco Guzman of the Regional Trial Court 6th Judicial Region Branch 12 in San Jose, Antique dated July 3, 2019.
Combong was detained in the municipal police station’s custodial facility.
Charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9516, or the illegal possession of explosives and RA 10591, or the illegal possession of firearms will be filed against him./PN
