ANTIQUE – Police personnel of the municipality of Hamtic planted 100-fruit bearing trees in the backyard of Bia-an Elementary School in Barangay Bia-an, Hamtic on May 19.

The tree planting activity was in line with the Hamtic police station’s “Oplan Inang-Lupa” initiative that supported the Philippine National Police’s core value “makakalikasan” (pro-environment).

Police Captain Horizon Villanueva, officer-in-charge of the Hamtic police station, led the tree planting.

Among others, they planted guava, jackfruit and chico seedlings.

The police station decided to plant fruit-bearing trees so that in the future, students of the school would have fruits to eat.

Joining the Hamtic police station in the tree planting was the First Antique Provincial Mobile Force Company, teachers of Bia-an Elementary School, personnel of the local government unit of Hamtic, barangay officials of Bia-an and other environmental advocates./PN
