SAN JOSE, Antique – A tricycle driver was confirmed dead and two others were injured in a road crash in Barangay Poblacion, Hamtic, Antique.
Police identified the fatality as 46-year-old Hernie Cadigal, who sustained injuries on the body.
According to police investigators, the tricycle driven by Hernie with his wife Leni and daughter Jaina Sofia as passengers was hit by a bus around 2:35 p.m. on May 4.
They were brought to the Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital in this capital town where the attending physician declared Hernie “dead on arrival.” His wife was later transferred to a hospital in Iloilo City for further treatment while their daughter who sustained minor injuries already received medical treatment.
Officers of the Hamtic police station said the bus driver failed to notice Hernie’s early light and hand signals.
The suspect was detained in the lockup cell of the municipal police station, facing charges./PN
