HAMTIC, Antique – A total of 272 employees, including elected municipal officials, from this town were subjected to an unannounced drug test on Friday, Sept. 16.

Personnel from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Regional Office VI-Laboratory Section and PDEA-Antique Provincial Office conducted the drug test among regular employees, job orders and municipal officials at the town’s Sangguniang Bayan Session Hall.

Mayor Julius Ronald Pacificador himself led the municipal officials in submitting themselves for a test.

The said surprise drug test was requested by the mayor in line with his vision of a drug-free Hamtic and his continuous and all-out support for the anti-drug campaign of the national government.

For the previous years, Hamtic was recognized by national agencies for the drug prevention and rehabilitation programs and initiatives that the mayor had implemented.

Apart from these, the activity was also in relation to the mandate of the Dangerous Drugs Board Regulation No. 13, Series of 2018, or An Establishment and Institutionalization of Drug-Free Workplace Policies in all Government Offices, including the conduct of authorized drug testing for elective and appointive public officers./PN
