‘Hello, Love, Goodbye’ hits 400-M box office earnings

“Hello, Love, Goodbye” has set a new record as the most successful film of Star Cinema so far for 2019 after taking in a whopping P400 million this weekend, the ABS-CBN production studio said.

“Breaking news: 400 million thank yous! Maraming, maraming salamat Pilipinas!” wrote Star Cinema on Instagram last Saturday, exactly 10 days after the movie, which stars Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards, opened to 350 cinemas locally.

Directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina and written by Carmi Raymundo, “Hello, Love, Goodbye” centers on the love story between two overseas Filipino workers who are based in Hong Kong.

In a recent interview, Alden said he would be willing to do a sequel.

“Biased ako kasi sobra akong na-in love sa pelikula…Siguro doon sa pelikula naman ay naging masaya naman sila sa choices nila pero mas gusto ko silang mas masaya pa,” he said, referring to their characters Joy, a domestic helper, and Ethan, a bartender, in the film.

He added, “I hope there will be a Part 2 for the movie. Of course, may mga negotiations pa po and parties that we need to settle before that, siyempre kung papayagan po ako ng GMA ulit, of course if Star Cinema will push through for the second installment.” (Push)
