HERCOR College Junior Jaguars claimed the first seat in the National Basketball Training Center Capiz leg finals after a 98-65 win over Filamer Christian University (FCU) in the semifinals on Monday at the Dayao Gym in Roxas City, Capiz.
Janwell Famaranco spearheaded the attack for the Junior Jaguars with 19 points, while Erjohn Hermogino and Gerald Banaria contributed 18 and 14 markers, respectively.
The Junior Jaguars opened the match with 13-4 score on early conversions from Famaranco. FCU tried its best to come close but the Junior Jaguars were just too talented to run away with the win.
Klyde Ray Roblete carried the fight for the FCU with 14 markers, while Juniel Adriguez and Reymart Hordejan finished with nine markers apiece.
The Junior Jaguars will face the winner of the Colegio de la Purisima Concepcion and Saint Mary’s Academy of Capiz, whose semifinals encounter is scheduled this afternoon.
The top two finishers in the Capiz leg will reach the NBTC Regionals, where they will face the top two qualifiers from the Iloilo, Antique and Guimaras legs. The winners in the regionals will advance to the National Finals in Manila./PN
