MANILA – Hercor College Junior Jaguars of Roxas City, Capiz captured the 2018 National Basketball Training Center (NBTC) Regional Championship crown after a 107-101 win over Hua Siong College of Iloilo in the finals in the Buenavista, Guimaras.
The Jay Jonic Pisuena-mentored Junior Jaguards had been in the lead from start to finish to punch a ticket to the NBTC National Finals in Manila on March 17.
It was a revenge victory for the Junior Jaguars after Hua Siong booted it out in the recent WVRAA Meet semifinals and the Ilonggos defeating the Capiznons in the WVPRISAA meet finals on Tuesday.
On their way to the championship round, the Junior Jaguars first defeated Buenavista National High School (Guimaras), 165-76, before dominating Guimaras State University (GSU), 143-91.
