ILOILO City – Ilonggo running enthusiasts joined the Heroes Run 2016 yesterday sponsored by the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
The run aimed to raise public awareness on the plight of soldiers and inspire people to help those injured or have died in line of duty in their journey to full recovery and generate funds for them and their dependents.
The proceeds will be channeled through the Armed Forces of the Philippines Educational Benefit System Office (AFPEBSO).
AFPBESO has programs and projects for the families of soldiers, one of which are scholarships.
