ILOILO City – A high-value drug suspect was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Sinikway, Lapuz district around 3:46 p.m. on Monday, April 10.
The 43-year-old Terence John “Jan Jan” Valdez was a resident of Barangay Don Esteban, Lapuz but temporarily staying in Blk. 10, Barangay Sinikway.
Joint operatives of the Iloilo City Police Office’s City Drug Enforcement Unit led by Police Captain Val Cambel and La Paz police station personnel led by officer-in charge, Police Captain Jhonna Aguil, seized around 18 grams of suspected shabu valued at P122,400 and P7,700 buy-bust money.
Cambel said the supply came from Barangay Desamparados, Jaro district.
Valdez was previously arrested for illegal drugs case in 2014. He was released from jail in 2021 through a plea bargaining agreement, police added.
The suspect was detained at the La Paz police station. Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 would be filed against him./PN
