ILOILO City – A high-value drug suspect was arrested in Barangay South Baluarte, Molo district at about 4:25 a.m. yesterday, April 30.
An undercover police officer was able to buy from 50-year-old construction worker Alexander Inocentes Alba, a resident of the place, a sachet of suspected shabu for P7,000.
Joint operatives of the Iloilo City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) and Police Station 4 (Molo Police Station) seized more seven large sachets of suspected shabu weighing 18 grams and with an estimated market value of P122,400.
Police Captain Val Cambel, team leader of the CDEU, said Alba was placed under surveillance for two months prior to the buy-bust.
The suspect also served jail time for illegal drugs in 2016 and was released in 2022, Cambel added.
Alba is now in the custody of the Molo Police Station and will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
