BACOLOD City – Suspected shabu valued at around P36,000 was recovered from a man in Barangay 6, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.
The suspected illegal drugs were seized from the 40-year-old resident Jose Mayo Silva, a “high-value” drug target and an alleged member of the Virtucio Drug Group, police said.
Silva was caught on Thursday after he sold suspected shabu to an undercover police officer for P500.
Joint personnel of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit and the San Carlos City police station staged the sting operation.
Silva, detained in the lockup facility of the San Carlos City police station, faces charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
