ILOILO City – Three high-value illegal drug targets were arrested at P.D. Monfort South, Dumangas, Iloilo.

“Since the town of Dumangas has been named as among the top three drug hotspots in the province, we are doubling our efforts to arrest more drug pushers,” said Senior Inspector Charlie Sustento, Dumangas police chief.

He identified the three suspects as Cherry Rose Baldonasa, 19; Nelson Orin, 32; and Ricky Villanueva, 39, all of P.D. Monfort South.

It was Orin who sold the incriminating sachet of shabu to a police poseur-buyer in the sting operation.

Two sachets of shabu were also recovered from Villanueva and one Baldonasa.

Sustento said the three were among the suspected big-time drug dealers who also operated in other towns.

An intelligence report indicated that the suspects got their supply from Barotac Nuevo town and Iloilo City.

The suspects were now detained at the Dumangas police station.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) revealed that among the main sources of illegal drugs in Iloilo City were Barangay Bakhaw in Mandurriao district, Barangay Desamparados in Jaro and Barnagay Tanza Esperanza in the City Proper./PN
